new house rule...

...according to Josh.

"Whoever lands the first strike gets dibs on clean-up."

Clean-up on the bug guts that is. >:p

(This picture of a camel cricket is not actual footage from our house, just a representative of one of the many ugly ones sneaking up from our basement. They're so darn fast too - ick.)

In other, happier, news....Julia is now the proud mom of two!!! Here are some of the beautiful pictures. Congratulations!!!

I've seen these crickets! They are freaky looking and huge. They remind me of the insect type creatures that I saw in a sci-fi movie once. I don't remember is it was the new "Lost in Space" or that one with the praying mantis monsters and the giant catepillar, who was the leader of the aliens, would suck out the brains of the humans and learn stuff from them. (Which movie was that?) It could have been another movie though.

Starship Troopers was the movie...the very 'interesting' movie.

Hey mama! You woman of great bug knowledge, you! (Camel crickets are another name for cave crickets, I learned when I was looking for that picture.)
I'm still doing well - I'm at 23 weeks now, so still enjoying the 2nd trimester. :) Lots of kickin' going on though! I wonder what this means about our child's temperament.....

i once squashed a roach a little to hard... his head shot off and landed a foot away. His antennae were still wigglin'.

ha ha ha! i can see that happening - those mississippi roaches are more like small rodents with protective anti-squash gear on. :p

(when we had just moved to jackson and met our first apartment roach, i think we turned over every single piece of furniture in our living room trying to catch the stupid thing. in fact, we did that with a gimpy frog too! but that's another story....)
